Your Mac is a real machine in a rack we look after ourselves. It comes online locked down, and everything about how you reach it is private by default.
Nothing public to attack
Your Mac has no public IP address and nothing listening on the open internet. Access runs over WireGuard, through your own private Tailscale network: encrypted end to end, invisible to everyone else. No open SSH port, no exposed screen sharing, nothing for a scanner to find. If a connection doesn't come from your private network, the machine simply isn't there.
Invisible to its neighbours
Every rental Mac is fenced off from every other machine. Network access controls stop one customer's Mac reaching another's, the rack switches enforce isolation port by port at the hardware level, and each Mac's own firewall silences local network discovery. Your machine can't see the others, and they can't see yours.
Dedicated hardware, single tenant
You rent a physical Mac mini, not a slice of one. No virtual machines, no shared kernels, no noisy neighbours. For the length of your rental, the silicon is yours alone.
Backups encrypted before they leave the machine
Nightly snapshots are encrypted on your Mac itself before a single byte is uploaded, so backup storage only ever holds ciphertext. Prefer to hold the key yourself? Set your own backup passphrase from the dashboard. Rather not have backups at all? Switching them off is one toggle.
UK racks, directly managed
The machines live in the Cotswolds and never leave the UK. UK hardware, UK jurisdiction, and the low latency that comes from being close. There's no anonymous data centre between you and your Mac: we rack, monitor, and maintain every machine ourselves.
